1. Primary Health

Our approach to primary health is focused on addressing the trifecta of HIV, TB, and malaria through comprehensive strategies that encompass prevention, testing, treatment, and care. We are committed to amplifying the reach and quality of our health interventions to curb these endemic diseases.

2. Mental Health

Recognizing the interplay between health challenges and mental well-being, we dedicate efforts to integrate mental health services within existing healthcare frameworks. By enhancing the competence of healthcare providers, our staff, communities and partners to identify mental health challenges as a priority and respond effectively. We aim to ensure sensitive and effective mental health care for our target populations and a strong counselling and psychosocial support and referral system.

3. Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights

SRHR emerges as a pivotal area of action. We stand firm against sexual, intimate and gender-based violence and vow to empower communities with education and accessible healthcare services, respecting and advancing their rights.

4. Integration of Health Services

The integration of health service delivery remains a cornerstone of our strategy. Coordination among different healthcare providers, partners and implementers in Mombasa and Kwale will foster a seamless experience for our communities who often confront barriers to accessing care. The over-reliance on foreign investment to support health systems particularly interventions for HIV, TB and malaria remains unsustainable and WACHA is committed to supporting the integration of services in existing health systems at county and national levels in the long term.

5. Organizational Strengthening

We recognize that our internal capacity dictates our external impact. Strengthening our internal ability to offer services to our beneficiaries and exceed expectations is a major strategic area in this strategy. We are committed to strengthening our internal capacity and capabilities, and we will aim to implement frameworks and competencies for sustainable and effective service delivery.

6. Cross-cutting Issues

Recognizing that the environment we live in is an important piece of the overall picture, WACHA CBO identifies climate change as a priority area that cannot be ignored, and has prioritized it in this strategy.
